Ingredients:
8 slices of French bread
¾ cup milk
1 pound cooked ham, sliced
¼ cup butter
8 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced
¼ cup oil
2 eggs
Optional: powdered sugar and jam to dip sandwiches in
Directions:
Beat eggs. Add milk. Dip bread slices into the mixture and cook as if you were cooking French toast. Top 4 slices of bread with ham and cheese slices and another slice of cooked bread. You can warm in the oven at 200 degrees until cheese is melted and ready to serve now or you can fry each outside slice in hot butter and oil mixture until golden on each side. You can sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with jam. Makes 4 sandwiches.
