Hummus

Ingredients:

2-16 oz. cans garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
1 clove garlic, peeled
1/3 cup tahini (this is a sesame seed paste and can often be found by the peanut butter or organic section)
1 tsp salt
Juice of 1 lemon
¼ tsp cayenne pepper, ground
¼ tsp cumin, ground
¼ tsp black pepper, ground
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 handful parsley
3-4 green onions, cut into 1” pieces
Water as needed (approx 1/3 cup)

Directions:

-Place all ingredients in food processor or blender.
-Add water as needed to form a smooth paste.
-Adjust seasonings to taste.
-Garnish with parsley if desired.
-Serve with pita bread wedges, fresh veggies, or crackers!
